The 9th Silk Road International Exposition & The Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China (hereafter "Silk Road Expo") is officially scheduled to take place from May 21 to May 25, 2025, at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Silk Road Expo was first held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, in 2016 and has successfully held eight editions. Fifteen countries—Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Serbia, the UK, Malaysia, Russia, Cambodia, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan—have served as honored guest countries. It has welcomed more than 200 foreign dignitaries and former dignitaries from more than 190 countries and regions around the world, more than 10,000 overseas merchants, exhibiting and selling more than 30,000 kinds of special commodities, with a total of more than 2.88 million visitors. This year's expo theme is "Silk Road Integration and Open Cooperation." The expo features six major pavilions: the Silk Road Premium Products Exhibition, the Low-Altitude Economy Exhibition, the Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition, the Cultural Tourism & Consumption Exhibition, the Interprovincial Cooperation Exhibition, and the Transportation & Logistics Exhibition.
A dedicated Low-Altitude Economy Zone will feature four key sectors: drone research and development (R&D) and manufacturing, eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) urban air mobility, smart logistics, and low-altitude data services. This initiative aims to drive aerospace technological innovation and industrial applications while creating a strategic platform for global enterprises to showcase their technologies, align with relevant policies, and access funding. As the host city, Xi'an is being positioned as a hub for low-altitude economy innovation in western China, and it is welcoming worldwide collaboration.
The Silk Road Expo has developed into a prominent platform aimed at enhancing connectivity. Its primary goals include expanding economic and trade cooperation, actively contributing to the development of a new land-sea corridor in the western region, and fostering deeper trade and investment collaborations with countries, provinces, and municipalities in Central Asia, West Asia, and South Asia.
